City Reach Week
5th - 11th July 2021
God’s love shining in our city.
5th - 11th July is City Reach Week, where we're inviting you to get involved in blessing and impacting people across our city.
We believe that everyone can do something, so whatever age you are, we’re encouraging everyone to sign up to our C7 City Reach Week Acts of Kindness project and then also choose one of our collaborative projects to give a couple of hours of your time to get involved in reaching our city this summer.
Project One: Acts of Kindness
Every person has the opportunity to have an impact on someone else through a random act of kindness.
A random act of kindness can be absolutely anything - from buying a coffee for the person behind you in the queue to getting a gift for a loved one, cutting a neighbour’s grass or donating toys to children in need. Whatever it is, the goal is to help, encourage or uplift someone with no strings attached.
You can do as many random acts of kindness as you want but we’re inviting you to let us know what you did so we can share all the great stories with our church!
Project Two: Big Clear Up
Our City Reach Big Clear Up Project is being sponsored by Glasgow City Council.
You don’t need to look far to see areas in our community that need to be cleared up. This City Reach week we want to help clean up four different areas around our city. One area will be our own streets around our Church building, but the other three - we want you to suggest! It could be your street, a local park or an area you regularly visit that is in need of a clear up! Nominate your area here.
We’re then looking for volunteers to help clear up these areas, with equipment provided by Glasgow City Council.
Project Three: City Street Walk
To support those on the streets of Glasgow we are organising a Street Walk on Thursday 8th July.
This team will meet in the City Centre and work in smaller groups to offer support packs and talk to those who are on the streets or sleeping rough around our city.
We’re looking for volunteers to be part of our Street Walk team for this date and help some of the most vulnerable in our city.
(Teams will always be in groups of at least three people and adequate safety precautions will be taken at all times.)
